How Can I Fix My Toshiba 55″ 4K Fire TV Remote Pairing Issue?

I recently revived a Toshiba 55" 4K Fire TV that I got for free after it was given up due to power issues. I replaced the main board successfully, and the TV turns on and displays the Fire TV logo, which is great. However, I'm having trouble getting the remote to pair with the TV. Despite being able to power the TV on and off with it, it just won't connect for navigation. I've tried a bunch of troubleshooting steps, including resetting both the TV and the remote, unplugging the TV for various durations, and attempting to pair it using the Fire TV app on my phone, but nothing seems to work. It feels so frustrating to get this far only to hit this roadblock. I'm wondering if it's possible there's another faulty part or if the remote itself might be the issue. Any advice would be much appreciated!

It sounds like you may want to focus on the remote first. Sometimes, compatibility issues pop up if it’s not the original remote. By the way, you shouldn't worry too much about removing that sticker—it’s just a tracking tag from Best Buy and doesn’t affect the warranty.

Thanks! You turned my attention back to the remote, and I realized it’s not the original one. It’s actually for an Insignia Fire TV. I’m heading out to get a compatible one to see if that fixes it. Appreciate it!
