How can I fix my wireless mouse disconnecting after my computer wakes from sleep?

I've been having trouble with my Logitech wireless mouse. Every time my computer goes to sleep and I wake it up, the mouse stops working and shows a USB error. Even unplugging and replugging the USB receiver doesn't fix it. The only way to get it working again is to restart my computer, but that's really frustrating. I've also got an HP mouse, and it doesn't seem to have this problem. I'm wondering if my Logitech mouse is just faulty, or is there a fix? Also, I have a USB splitter connected to my computer, but everything else works fine after sleep, so I'm not sure if that's related.

If you're on a Windows machine, try adjusting the settings for your USB root hub. Open Device Manager, go to Universal Serial Bus Controllers, find the USB Root Hub, and check the Power Management tab. Make sure to uncheck any options that let the computer turn it off to save power. That might solve your problem!

I actually found two USB Root Hubs listed. Could that be part of the issue?

Your wireless mouse relies on its WiFi system to function correctly. They only operate when the computer is fully active. Unfortunately, there’s not much you can do if it's consistently disconnecting after sleep. You might want to explore replacing it if the issues persist!

That sounds a bit off. I've seen issues like these before, and they can often get fixed with firmware updates or drivers, so it might be worth checking those too!

Some wireless mice might not work well with USB splitters. If you haven’t already, try connecting your Logitech mouse directly to the PC instead of using the splitter. But since you mentioned that plugging it directly doesn't solve the issue, you might just want to consider trying a different mouse. Amazon Basics has some affordable options, so that could be a good backup.

Yeah, I'm leaning towards getting a cheaper mouse, maybe the same one I have in my bedroom since that one works fine.
