My headset's microphone suddenly stopped working, and I can't find it anywhere in my computer's sound or input settings. I've tried several troubleshooting guides, but nothing has helped so far. The headset's left earbud has also stopped producing sound, so I'm currently limited to the right channel. I rely on the microphone to communicate with friends online and would appreciate help diagnosing whether this is a computer setting, connection issue, or failing headset.

Since you’re using a computer, first check whether the headset appears under your system’s input devices and make sure it’s selected as the default microphone. If it connects through separate headphone and microphone plugs, verify both are connected to the correct ports; if it uses a single combined plug, you may need a compatible splitter or adapter. Also test the headset on another device. If the microphone still isn’t detected and the left earbud is also dead, the headset or its cable may have failed rather than this being a software problem.

I’ll check the input device settings and test the headset on another device. Since the earbud is failing too, I’m wondering if the headset itself may be damaged.
