Hey everyone! My friend is planning to build a new PC, and I'm looking for some advice to help him choose the right parts. It's been a while since I built my last one, so I'm out of the loop on recent developments. He's aiming for a gaming rig, so I'm hoping to get some suggestions on how to improve the components he's already selected. Please try to keep the recommendations within the budget listed on his PCPartPicker link. Also, just a heads up, he's located in Germany and prefers to focus on performance rather than 4K gaming, as I believe that a 144 Hz setup would be more beneficial. Any tips would be much appreciated! Thanks!

Honestly, he’s got a solid base with those components. The 9850x3d is currently one of the best CPUs for gaming. If he wants to save a bit, a Thermalright cooler could work, but if aesthetics matter, he might stick with what he chose. His motherboard and storage seem great, too. For the GPU, choosing the 9070XT instead of the 5070 would give him more longevity. Just make sure the PSU is good quality, like a Montech 850W or 1050W, since they offer great value for what you get!
What's the main purpose of this build? If this is purely for gaming, I’d also suggest looking into monitor options. It's so important to have the right display, and there are ways to find good deals on monitors that provide excellent performance without breaking the bank.
Totally got it! A good monitor can really make or break the gaming experience.
It sounds like he has good taste in components! For cooling, I’d recommend he swap the high-end AIO cooler for an Arctic Freezer III 360 Pro. It performs just as well, but it's cheaper. Also, while the RAM he picked is fine, going for a 6000 CL30 kit could give him a slight edge in performance. For the GPU, the RX 9070 XT is a great option due to its higher VRAM and performance. If he’s leaning towards Nvidia, the RTX 5070 Ti is also a solid choice if it fits the budget.
That makes sense, but if he's already into Corsair for his peripherals, he might prioritize aesthetics. He might want to balance performance and looks.
Exactly, and that's why I suggested considering both options!

Gaming is the main goal! That's why we're focusing on performance.
