I'm trying to figure out how to hide admin and service accounts from view in Microsoft Teams. I've already set the 'msexchangehidefromaddresslist' option to true, but it doesn't seem to be working as expected. Do I need to configure these accounts as shared mailboxes for them to be hidden in Teams?

To hide service accounts in Teams, you can go to the Microsoft Teams Admin Center, then navigate to Teams > Teams Settings. Look for the option to 'Scope directory search using an Exchange address book policy' and enable it. This should help with visibility issues. You can check more details in the Microsoft documentation for Teams directory search.
From what I've researched, hiding service accounts in Teams isn't straightforward. Some discussions suggested using 'information barriers', but I couldn't get that to function properly. A practical workaround might be to simply rename the accounts to something less noticeable so they don't draw attention.
Thanks! That sounds like a good plan.

Thank you for the tip! Unfortunately, it seems like that didn’t work for me. Any other ideas?
