Hey everyone! I'm new to the whole PC gaming scene and I'm trying to figure out what's causing my performance issues in Counter-Strike 2. Here are my specs: I'm running a Ryzen 5 3600 with an AMD stock cooler, an ASUS ROG Strix RTX 2080, and an ASRock A520M-HDV motherboard. I have 16 GB of DDR4 RAM that includes two sticks of different speeds—one is at DDR4-2133 and the other at DDR4-2666, but my system is currently set to run at 2133 MT/s. My storage is a 464 GB SSD, powered by a Corsair CX750 PSU, and I play at a resolution of 1920x1080 on a Zowie BENQ 240 Hz monitor. The issue I'm facing is that my FPS is consistently lower than what I expected; in Faceit, I'm usually around 200 FPS or sometimes even less and it rarely matches my monitor's refresh rate. The game sometimes feels stuttery or not as smooth as I would like. I'm curious if my slow and mismatched RAM is causing the FPS issues with my Ryzen setup, whether upgrading to faster RAM would help increase FPS, if my Ryzen 5 3600 is just not up to par for stable high FPS in CS2 these days, and if there are any other performance bottlenecks or settings I might be overlooking. Any advice would be really appreciated!

It sounds like your CPU might be holding you back, especially since it's also being limited by the RAM speed. Upgrading to a Ryzen 5600X and getting two sticks of 8GB DDR4-3600 CL16 RAM could make a huge difference in performance.

But would you suggest getting the 5600X instead of the 5800X?
