How Can I Improve ArcGIS Pro Performance on My New PC?

I recently received a custom-built PC from my employer, and it's outclassed my colleague's laptop in every way—better CPU, faster GPU, and more DDR5 RAM. Despite this, when we both ran a raster through a custom tool in ArcGIS Pro, my PC was noticeably slower. I found one setting in the BIOS that was bottlenecking my RAM speed, but I'm still trying to figure out what else I can change to improve performance. Can anyone suggest specific settings or tweaks to enhance my PC's performance for GIS tasks? Just for reference, I'm running Windows 11 Pro with an Intel Ultra 7 265K and 64GB of Crucial Micron DDR5 RAM at 6000 MHz.

For these kinds of tasks, motherboard settings really matter! Double-check if your RAM is set to run at its full speed in BIOS (sometimes default settings can hold you back). Also, ensure that your power settings are prioritized for performance rather than power saving. This can really help when you're running intensive applications like ArcGIS.

It sounds like you've got a solid setup! Have you checked the GPU you're using? A lesser-optimized GPU can slow things down even if the specs look good. Also, it might help to look at the laptop specs for comparison. Is their laptop using a dedicated GPU or just integrated graphics? Along with that, it's worth checking what Task Manager shows while you're running the tool. Are there any specific processes taking up CPU or memory? Good luck!

Your CPU and GPU combo seems awesome, but keep an eye on how you're utilizing your resources. I've found that sometimes it's not just about having better hardware but also how the software uses it. Make sure you're using the latest drivers for your hardware and that you're optimizing the settings in ArcGIS Pro. Comparing to your colleague's laptop might give you insights into what settings might be holding you back.
