I'm living on the second floor of my house, and the internet receiver is on the first floor. I'm always stuck with just one bar of signal on both my switch and phone. I'm looking for advice on how I can get better internet access in my room and throughout my floor.

If you're using a combination modem/router, consider relocating it closer to your space if possible. Sometimes it's just about getting rid of dead spots! If you can't move it, think about investing in a mesh network system. They’re great for covering larger areas with multiple transceivers working together to ensure you get good coverage throughout your place.
You might want to grab a WiFi extender. I got a Xiaomi one recently, and it works like a charm! Also, if you use a 5GHz network, switching to 2.4GHz could help improve coverage since it goes further without as many obstacles.
Have you checked if your Internet Service Provider (ISP) provides both wired and wireless options? Sometimes, going wired could enhance your signal significantly! Just wondering how flexible your setup is.
One straightforward fix might be wiring an access point upstairs. This would allow you to have stronger coverage where you need it most, but I get that it might not be possible if it's a wired setup on the first floor.
Yeah, I can't really set up anything up there since it's all wired down here.

It's a wired connection, but unfortunately, I can't move it since it's fixed in one spot.
