I'm using a company-issued laptop and need VLC Media Player, but Windows asks for an administrator password when I run the installer. Is there an approved way to get it installed without admin privileges, or should I go through a specific company process?

First check whether VLC is on your company’s approved software list. If it isn’t, submit a software request with the reason you need it. Avoid downloading unofficial “no-admin” installers or trying to work around the password prompt, since those can create security problems.

Contact your company’s IT department and ask them to install VLC or approve the request. Administrator restrictions are usually intentional, and bypassing them could violate your workplace’s security or acceptable-use policy.
