How can I keep my WiFi password secret from my child with an iPhone?

I'm looking for some advice on how to keep my home WiFi password secret from my child, who uses an iPhone. I've set up Screen Time and other restrictions, but I want to make sure they can't access the WiFi on any devices I don't want them to. Is it possible to create a one-time use password or a device-specific password that only works on their iPhone? Any suggestions would be really appreciated. Thanks!

If you want to ensure strict access control, you could whitelist only the devices using their MAC addresses. This way, any unrecognized device will be blocked from joining the WiFi.

Although I'm not an iPhone user, I recommend establishing a guest network or using a separate access point. You can then put MAC address restrictions on that network, permitting only your child's iPhone. This would allow your child to connect with a different password while blocking other devices from accessing it.

Unfortunately, iPhones can show stored WiFi passwords. You might try removing the WiFi from your child's phone, reconnecting it without entering the password, and then sharing it via your iPhone. This method typically hides the password from their device.

You can set up a guest network and restrict access to it by whitelisting your child's iPhone's MAC address. Make sure to turn off MAC address randomization on the iPhone for that network. This way, only their iPhone can connect, and you'll keep the main WiFi password hidden from them!
SmartMom123: Can I create a secondary WiFi from my main one? Like a guest network?

CuriousCat123: Thatโs great! I can try that, I might have to YouTube a few of those things but I do think I can create a guest network.
