How Can I Make My PC Super Quiet for Music Production?

I've been focusing more on music production lately and want to minimize the fan noise from my PC as much as possible. My setup includes a non-X Ryzen 5600 cooled by an Arctic Freezer with two fans and a PNY RTX 3070. The case fans are from Corsair and I have a Corsair 220T case. I believe to significantly reduce noise, I might need to consider getting a new case and fans. Any suggestions?

Just a tip: make sure to check if Precision Boost Overdrive (PBO) is enabled on your CPU. Undervolting can really help too. If you're considering larger fans, think about getting some quiet ones to keep RPMs low and still have decent cooling performance.

When it comes to reducing noise while ensuring adequate cooling, think about maximizing air exchange with larger or more fans that can run at lower RPMs. Consider using the biggest fans your case can hold. If you have a cooler supporting 140mm fans, a push/pull setup could also help circulate air effectively without ramping up noise levels. For instance, a case like the Fractal Design Meshify C supports larger fans and maintains great airflow.

One way to reduce noise is by replacing your existing fans with low RPM models or adding more fans that are larger. Bigger fans usually run quieter. Also, you might want to consider undervolting or power limiting your CPU, which reduces heat and lets the fans operate at lower speeds. Just a heads up – this might slow down your system a bit, but it could be worth it for the noise reduction. Definitely something to think about!

If you can, try isolating your PC in a soundproofed area and using long cables for your peripherals. Just a fun thought, but it can work!

Haha, I actually thought about that, but my wife shot that idea down!

Noctua fans are highly recommended for quiet operation, and don't forget to adjust your fan curves to run them more efficiently! They're one of the top choices for silence and performance.
