How can I maximize my internet speed with my router?

Hey everyone! I'm currently subscribed to a 1GB fiber internet plan and I'm using an ASUS RT-AX82U router, which supports 802.11AC technology. According to my ISP, this router is compatible with the required standards. When I check my speed using the ASUS app, I often see speeds in the mid-900s. However, when I test on my phone or directly via a wired connection, the speed drops to around 450 Mbps. What settings should I adjust on my router to get closer to the full speed I'm paying for?

Definitely give wired connections another try. If you've already tested directly with your PC and are still seeing low speeds, you might need to check your router settings or firmware. Ensure your router is updated to the latest firmware, and consider reducing any QoS settings that might be limiting speeds. Also, check for any bandwidth hogs that might be using up your internet.

It sounds like the issue might not be with your router at all. Sometimes, the device you're using can limit the speed. Make sure the devices you're testing on are actually capable of handling higher speeds. Also, if you're testing over Wi-Fi, remember that it can be unpredictable. That's why direct wired connections are generally recommended for the most reliable results.
