I just got a Sandisk external hard drive and I'm trying to download Baldur's Gate 3 (BG3). My internal storage is almost full due to other games, so I'm wondering if it's possible to move my Steam library, including all my games, DLCs, and progress, to the external SSD. This way, I can free up space on my MacBook while keeping my other work stored there. Any tips on how to do this? I'm a bit stressed out about it!

Yes, you can definitely move your games! Just open Steam, head to settings, and find the storage section. There, you should see an option to move your games to the external SSD. Just remember, you might need to create a new Steam library folder on the SSD for this to work.
Where exactly is the settings option in Steam? I only see the settings for individual games, no option to move things.
Yes, but keep in mind that your internal SSD typically has faster read/write speeds than most external drives. This could lead to a slight performance drop when launching games from the external SSD, although you might not even notice it during gameplay.
So, if the performance is slower, will the game still load fine, or will it lag during play?

Just to add, if I move my games there, can I still play multiplayer games? Will it affect my progress?
