I own a Samsung 34" Odyssey G8 OLED monitor (3440x1440, 175Hz), and I'm looking to create a system that fully utilizes its potential. I'm seeking suggestions on how to save costs while also enhancing performance.
**Budget**: $2,600 USD
**Goals:**
- Play AAA games like *Elden Ring*, *Cyberpunk 2077*, *Death Stranding 2*, and *Baldur's Gate 3* at a smooth frame rate.
- Aim for at least 60 FPS, ideally around 120-140 FPS on my ultrawide 4K monitor.
- I'm not into competitive FPS games, so super high FPS isn't crucial, but smooth gameplay is a must for future titles.
- I'm open to small budget increases if they yield substantial performance benefits.

Since you’re using the x3D chip, you might not need the CL 30 memory. A 6000 CL36 kit could save you about $75 while maintaining performance. Just a thought!
Hey! I’d suggest swapping your storage for something like the M480 Pro or the KC3000, they’re known to be just as reliable as Samsung but cheaper. Also, consider a different CPU cooler like the Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 instead of the Montech one. As for the GPU, I’d think about brands like Gigabyte or Zotac rather than MSI for better performance. And regarding case fans, Lian Li makes some great and quieter options!
I’ve got a similar setup with a 9800X3D and a 5070 Ti, and it handles Cyberpunk at 4K ultra with DLSS on, easily hitting over 60 FPS without ray tracing. Plus, your ultrawide monitor won’t use the entire 4K pixel count, so you should see even better performance. To save money, consider getting an air cooler for your CPU, cheaper fans, or a more budget-friendly motherboard. Also, aiming to snag the 5070 Ti for around $750 would be ideal!
That ray tracing stuff is brutal! It seriously cuts FPS in half.
What do you mean by 'oversized fans'? Are they just bigger for better airflow?
