Hey everyone! I'm hoping for some advice on optimizing my PC for gaming, specifically for Minecraft Java Edition. I used to play without any issues, but recently it's been super laggy, even with a render distance set to just 10 chunks and using shaders. My specs include 16GB of RAM and a GeForce RTX 2060 Super, and I have the latest drivers as of May 12. I really want to get back to enjoying the game, so any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks for your help!

Shaders can definitely drag down performance, especially if your setup isn't top-tier. Have you tried increasing the RAM allocation for Minecraft? You can do that in the launcher settings. If you want to keep using shaders, just keep an eye on your performance. Otherwise, turning them off might boost your gameplay significantly! Also, consider using a mod like Sodium for optimization if you haven't already.

The Java version of Minecraft is still actively supported, so that's not the issue. Your specs should be sufficient for Java. If you’re experiencing lag, instead of switching versions, I suggest adjusting the graphics settings. Lowering the render distance and turning off some graphical flourishes could help. Performance mods can also be a big boost!
