How Can I Prepare for a Computer Science Program in College?

I'm a 12th grader getting ready to start a Computer Science program this September, and I'm eager to prepare well. I don't have much formal experience in the field yet, but I do know some Python and am planning to improve my skills over the next few months. I'm particularly interested in data science for the future. I'm willing to put in extra work outside of school, but I want to make sure I'm focusing on the right skills.

Here are my questions:
- What should I focus on before college starts?
- Besides Python and projects, what additional skills or subjects should I learn for a strong foundation? What kind of projects should I work on, and what skills do I need for them?
- Are there any worthwhile certifications or courses I should pursue at this stage?

I'd appreciate any guidance! Thanks!

Starting with Python is a great choice for data science! Definitely spend some time on the math side of things—statistics and linear algebra will be crucial when you dive into data analysis later. For projects, try working with real datasets instead of just following tutorials. You might analyze public datasets or even scrape data from websites, which will teach you a lot about data cleaning and visualization. Focus on coding and problem-solving for now rather than worrying about certificates; your time is better spent getting hands-on experience!

Is there anything specific in Python I should focus on? I want to take courses to deepen my understanding. Any recommendations?
