I recently encountered a problem with my PC due to a power surge when the lights went out. My PC just shut down and wouldn't turn back on. Luckily, I had a warranty, so I sent it back to the manufacturer for repairs. Now, I'm looking for advice on how to prevent this from happening again. I have a UPS (uninterruptible power supply), and I'm wondering if plugging my PC into it while playing will help protect it from damage. I've heard that the power surge was what caused the initial issue, but I want to make sure I'm doing everything I can to avoid future problems. I also purchased a CyberPower battery for added safety. Any tips?

Yes, if your UPS includes power surge protection, it should help keep your PC safe.

I get that, but if my PC was already plugged into a surge protector, why didn’t that help?
