How can I quickly build a simple apology website with HTML and CSS?

My girlfriend and I are currently long-distance, and we had an argument over text. She went to sleep, but I'm still awake regretting how things went. I know I should apologize properly when we talk, but I'd also like to make a small personal website for her. It would be a simple static site with several pages or buttons: a greeting, an apology, reasons I appreciate her, some novels I've written for her, playlists, and other personal messages. There would be no backend or complicated features. I have a basic understanding of Python and learned some HTML and CSS a while ago, but I've forgotten most of it. What would be a good way to refresh the basics and put together something like this?

For the technical side, a beginner reference such as W3Schools can refresh HTML, CSS, links, buttons, and basic page structure. Since this is a static project, you can keep it simple with a few HTML files and one CSS file. You can also publish it for free with a static hosting service such as GitHub Pages, so you don’t need to buy a domain or set up a backend.

The website could be a sweet gift, but it probably shouldn’t replace the actual apology. Talk to her when she’s awake, acknowledge specifically what you did, listen to her side, and explain what you’ll do differently. A big presentation can sometimes feel like avoiding the real issue, so make the site an extra expression of care rather than the main solution.

You can make a basic prototype very quickly with plain HTML and CSS. Start with one page, use anchor links or buttons to move between sections, and add the personal writing afterward. Avoid relying completely on generated content if the point is to communicate your own feelings; using tools for setup is fine, but the apology itself should sound like you.

This might work better as a thoughtful letter or small gift for now, with the website saved for a happier occasion like an anniversary. More effort and more pages don’t automatically make an apology more sincere. If you still build it, focus on personal content and keep the design clean instead of making it overly dramatic.

A handmade site can still be meaningful if it clearly comes after a genuine conversation. The important part is that it shows you thought about her and the problem, rather than trying to distract from it.
