My old Samsung Galaxy S22+ still has photos in its Gallery that were never backed up to Google Photos. The phone's screen is blank and the touchscreen doesn't work, so I couldn't access everything during the transfer to my new phone. Is there a way to recover the remaining photos?

A laptop’s USB-C port usually won’t work as a display for the phone; most laptop ports are for charging, data, or output rather than receiving video. A proper USB-C dock connected to a monitor is more likely to work. If you can’t unlock or authorize the connection, having the screen temporarily replaced is probably the safest option. A reputable repair shop may also be able to recover the data, but modern Samsung phones are encrypted, so they’ll generally need the phone unlocked.
If the phone still powers on, try a USB-C hub or dock connected to an external monitor, keyboard, and mouse. The S22+ supports Samsung DeX, so you may be able to control it like a computer. However, Android may require you to unlock the phone or approve USB access on the damaged screen first.
I’m using a Pixel 11 Pro XL now, and my laptop has a USB-C port. Could I connect the old phone directly to the laptop instead?
