How Can I Reduce the Power Consumption of My 3080 GPU?

I'm looking to cut down the power usage of my 3080 graphics card as much as possible. Is it feasible to reduce it to around 160W? I'm also curious about how much performance I'd have to sacrifice for that. Additionally, I'm considering purchasing one for $390, and I'm concerned about the TGP—do you think it's worth that price?

The normal TGP for the 3080 is around 320W, but you can reduce it by about 30% down to 224W. Dropping it to 160W is tricky without capping your FPS per game. If you lock your FPS to 60 or lower, you might achieve that, but expect a performance drop of around 15%-20% at 224W. It’s definitely possible to reduce power even more, but performance will take a hit. By the way, why do you care so much about TGP?

I have a solar power system, so it’s a big deal for me. Also, what do you think about the price at $390?

No one can give you a definitive answer here since it really depends on your card’s silicon quality. You can tweak power and voltage limits using software like Afterburner. Check out some overclocking forums for more detailed help.
