How can I reinstall my NVIDIA graphics driver after deleting all NVIDIA software?

I have an MSI Pulse GL66 11UGKV laptop that I bought used. While trying to install the NVIDIA app, I mistakenly removed GeForce Experience and then deleted almost everything with "NVIDIA" in the name. Now NVIDIA Control Panel says that NVIDIA display settings are unavailable because no NVIDIA graphics card was detected, and the NVIDIA app shows error code 0xE6000000 saying that an NVIDIA GPU is required. I also tried downloading an older driver and using NVCleanstall, but neither worked. Is there a safe way to restore the correct graphics driver and get the laptop's NVIDIA GPU working again?

You probably havenโt permanently damaged anything. Download the driver for the exact NVIDIA GPU in your laptop from NVIDIAโs official driver page, choose the notebook/laptop version, and run the installer using the clean-install option. For this model, verify the GPU in the laptopโs specifications firstโmany GL66 11UGKV configurations use an RTX 3070 Laptop GPU.

Windows Update may also be able to restore a basic driver: open Settings, go to Windows Update, check for updates, and look under Optional updates for a display driver. After the GPU driver is installed, NVIDIA Control Panel and the NVIDIA app should recognize the card again. If the installer still says no GPU was detected, check Device Manager for a disabled or unknown display adapter and install the MSI laptop drivers as a fallback.

If the normal installer fails, use Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) to remove any remaining NVIDIA display components. Download DDU from a reputable source, disconnect from the internet so Windows doesnโt automatically install a driver, boot into Safe Mode, select NVIDIA, and choose the clean-and-restart option. Then reconnect to the internet and install the current notebook driver directly from NVIDIA.
