I'm using a plugged-in Windows 11 laptop with an Intel i7-12800H. In some games, especially World of Warcraft, switching Windows to Balanced power mode causes the game to stay locked at 30 FPS. The Nvidia settings have no frame-rate limit enabled, and both CPU and GPU usage remain below 30%. Switching to High performance immediately removes the cap and lets me adjust the frame rate in-game. Is there a way to keep Balanced mode while removing this apparent 30 FPS limit?

The practical workaround suggested is to use High performance mode, since that is what removes the 30 FPS limit. Balanced mode may be applying a laptop-specific power or performance policy that overrides the Nvidia settings, even though the CPU and GPU are not heavily loaded. To keep Balanced mode, you would need to find and change that policy in the laptop manufacturer’s control software or Windows advanced power settings; otherwise the cap may be intentional behavior of the system’s Balanced profile.
I’m specifically trying to identify and change whatever Balanced-mode setting is enforcing the cap, rather than switching permanently to High performance.
