I'm using Chrome on an Acer laptop, and Bing's news page appears whenever I open the browser. I've already changed my preferred search engine, removed Bing from the available search-engine list, and even reset the computer, but the Bing news page still comes back. This is my first computer, so I'm not very familiar with Chrome settings. How can I get rid of it?

Check whether a Bing-related extension is controlling the new-tab page. In Chrome, open the Extensions page, remove anything unfamiliar or related to Bing, then restart Chrome. Also look through your installed apps and uninstall Bing Wallpaper if you don’t use it, since it may have been installed along with other Bing features.
Changing the search engine won’t necessarily change the new-tab or news page. Those are separate Chrome settings, and an extension or installed program can override them. Remove suspicious extensions, set the startup page again, and reset Chrome’s settings if it still keeps returning.
First, make sure you’re actually opening Chrome rather than Microsoft Edge. In Chrome, open Settings, go to “On startup,” and choose the page you want Chrome to open. You can also check the Home button setting if Bing appears when you click Home.
