I'm using an Acer laptop and Chrome always opens to a Bing news page. I've already changed my preferred search engine, removed Bing from the available search engines, and even reset the computer, but Bing still appears whenever I launch Chrome. This is my first computer, so I'm not very familiar with the settings. How can I get rid of it?

Check your installed apps for “Bing Wallpaper” or any other Bing-related program and uninstall it if you don’t need it. Then open chrome://settings/onStartup to set a new startup page and chrome://extensions/ to remove unwanted extensions.
If the page is specifically the Bing news feed, it may be coming from a browser extension or a Bing-related app rather than your search-engine setting. Remove suspicious extensions and reset Chrome’s startup settings. If it keeps returning, run a malware scan and check for recently installed programs.
First, make sure you’re opening Google Chrome rather than Microsoft Edge. In Chrome, open Settings, go to “On startup,” and choose the page you want Chrome to open. You can also check the extensions page and remove anything related to Bing or another unfamiliar extension.
I checked the startup settings, but the Bing page still appeared, so I’m going to look through the extensions next.
