How can I resolve a pacman update blocked by a lib32-audit dependency conflict?

I'm running CachyOS and recently started getting this error when trying to update with `sudo pacman -Syu`: `error: failed to prepare transaction (could not satisfy dependencies)` `:: installing audit (4.2.1-1.1) breaks dependency 'audit=4.1.4' required by lib32-audit` I checked `/etc/pacman.conf` to make sure the relevant repository settings weren't commented out, and I also refreshed my mirrors with reflector in case they were out of sync. Neither helped. Has anyone dealt with this specific `audit` and `lib32-audit` version conflict, and is there anything safe to try besides waiting for the repositories to be corrected?

Dependency conflicts like this can happen when an update is pushed before all related packages have been rebuilt. It isnโ€™t necessarily a problem with your mirror configuration or `pacman.conf`. Avoid forcing the transaction or removing a package that other software depends on; once the maintainers correct the package versions, `sudo pacman -Syu` should work normally.

This looks like a repository-side package dependency mismatch. The newer `audit` package is available, but `lib32-audit` still requires the older exact version. Removing and reinstalling `lib32-audit` generally wonโ€™t solve that, because package names donโ€™t change with each version; the dependency metadata itself needs to be updated. In this situation, the safest option is usually to wait until the CachyOS or Arch package repositories publish compatible versions, then run the full system update again.

MellowQuill27: Got it, thanks for clarifying. Iโ€™ll hold off and try the update again once the repository packages have caught up.
