How can I restore my configurations after reinstalling PopOS?

Hey everyone! I've recently switched to PopOS as my main OS after using Mint for a while. I'm feeling a bit lost when it comes to backups and would love some clarification.

I've set up Timeshift for system files and created some bash scripts to use rsync for backing up my home data folder, while excluding unnecessary files like cache and steamapps.

Now, if I decide to reinstall PopOS with the Cosmic beta, can I use my Timeshift or rsync backups to quickly restore my configurations, startup apps, and installed applications? For example, I have custom tuning for a speed control package that manages my PC fans and an app for adjusting brightness on my two screens with a shortcut. I also have two keyboard layouts set up.

Is there a way to restore all these settings so I won't have to manually set everything up again? Thanks in advance!

Yes, as long as you've backed up your dotfiles in your home directory, you should be good to go! Those settings and configurations can usually be restored quite easily.
