How can I safely cover my PC for pest control?

I live in a budget apartment off campus, and an exterminator is scheduled to come over, but I'm not sure when. My PC case is missing both side panels, so I'm concerned about how to protect my computer. Is it alright if I cover it with a garbage bag until the exterminator arrives? Will that harm any of the internal components?

It's a good idea to check what kind of pest treatment they're planning. If it's just a quick spray around the edges, you probably don't need to worry too much. However, if they plan to do something more intense, a garbage bag is a smart move. Just make sure it's properly sealed.

Definitely cover the PC to protect it from any harmful residues. Make sure it's off to prevent overheating, and if they’re doing any type of fumigation, wait a few days before entering the place to let it air out.

If they're going to fog your apartment, that could be a bit tricky since the fog can be corrosive. A large garbage bag, sealed tightly with duct tape is your best bet. Just keep in mind, if you find any roaches around your PC, you might need to handle that situation differently.

First things first, make sure to shut down your PC. Turn off the power supply, unplug it, and press the power button once to drain any residual power. After that, covering it with a garbage bag should be fine. Just keep it secured, and it should be safe from any treatment they do.
