I'm a student and I'm finding it tough to watch my programming lectures while coding at the same time. Is there a way to connect my Thinkpad T440p to an external monitor to have two separate screens? I know my laptop has VGA and mini DisplayPort, while my monitor has HDMI and VGA. What's the best way to set this up?

Totally doable! Just plug the external monitor into your laptop using either the VGA port or a mini DisplayPort to HDMI adapter if you get one. Then, in the settings, set it to extend your display. This will give you the extra screen real estate without a hassle!
Yes, you can definitely use both your laptop screen and your monitor together! Just connect the VGA cable from your laptop to the monitor. After that, head into your display settings on Windows and select 'Extend' instead of 'Duplicate'. This way, you'll have different things on each screen—perfect for watching your lecture on one and coding on the other!

Thanks! I actually have a VGA cable lying around. Should I use that or get a mini DisplayPort to HDMI instead?
