How Can I Set Up RAID 5 on My Terramaster D4-320?

I just bought a Terramaster D4-320 with 40TB of storage for my Plex server, running on Windows 11. I want to set up RAID 5 to start transferring data from my old 8TB drive, but the RAID 5 option is grayed out in Disk Manager. I've checked all the tutorials, but they all show different right-click menus than mine. Am I missing something? Do I need additional software for this? Any help to get RAID 5 working would be awesome!

You'll need to download the configuration software from the Terramaster website. It simplifies the RAID setup process significantly—just a couple of clicks! It's worth checking out, and it may give you the options that seem missing.

I checked the box documentation, and it didn’t mention needing any software, and it claims to be "plug and play". Are you sure it needs extra software?

What model do you have? If your Terramaster doesn’t support hardware RAID, using software RAID over USB is usually not reliable, especially if you're looking for something that can provide data safety. Just a heads up, that setup could lead to more issues down the line.

Have you made sure that your drives are set up as dynamic disks? Sometimes that’s a key step that’s overlooked, and you won’t see the RAID options otherwise.
