How can I stop my touchpad from freezing the mouse when I type?

I'm using MX Linux, and there's this annoying issue where my touchpad locks the mouse cursor whenever I press any key. While it works fine with a USB mouse, the touchpad makes it impossible to move the cursor when I'm typing, which really bothers me, especially when gaming. Is there a way to fix this?

Which desktop environment are you on? Sometimes these issues can be related to specific ones like XFCE or KDE. Knowing that might help narrow down the solution!

I'm using XFCE. Does that help?

It sounds like you might need to check if the 'disable while typing' option is enabled for your touchpad. In some desktop environments, like XFCE, there's a setting that helps prevent the touchpad from responding when you type, making it easier to use. Try looking for that option in your settings to see if it helps!

Thanks for the tip! I had the same issue and it was super frustrating. I found the setting and turned it off. Now it's much better!
