Whenever I accidentally long-press the button on my wired headphones—especially when lying down—Google Assistant launches and interrupts whatever I'm listening to. I've searched for a solution, but most instructions seem outdated. What settings can I change to unbind the headphone button from Google Assistant?

If you never use Google Assistant, you can disable the Assistant entirely in your phone’s Google or Assistant settings. The location of the option varies by Android version, so the phone model would be useful for more precise instructions.
The exact steps depend on the phone and operating system, but check the Google Assistant settings for options related to headset buttons, wired headphones, or button shortcuts. Disabling the Assistant shortcut there should stop the long press from launching it.
As a last resort, the inline headphone button itself may be faulty or too sensitive. Replacing the headphones is safer than opening them, since disconnecting the button could damage the cable and may also affect the microphone or volume controls.

I don’t use it, but I haven’t been able to find the setting that fully disables it. I’ll check the Google settings rather than just the general phone settings.
