I have an old Samsung A40 with a totally broken screen; it's cracked and won't light up at all, and I can't tell if it still responds to touch. The problem is that it keeps ringing every morning at 6:45 AM with an alarm playing "Lovely Day" by Bill Withers. It's been happening for almost 10 days, and somehow the battery is still alive! I've tried shaking the phone to silence it, but the alarm keeps coming back. I've only found advice to hold the volume and power buttons together, but that doesn't seem to work. The phone vibrates once, but then it continues to ring. Is there any way to force it to turn off or drain the battery quickly?

If you force the phone to restart by holding the volume down and power buttons, it might get stuck in the boot process, which could stop the alarm from going off. But if you have a lock code set up, it might not work without confirming that first.
I feel your pain! Actually, the alarm can sometimes still go off even if the phone is off, which is super frustrating. The only real options might be to either wait it out or, if you're desperate, consider physically destroying it to stop the alarm. I know it sounds extreme, but sometimes that’s what it takes!
I totally get it! I looked up the same thing and was horrified to find that if the phone’s alarm is set, it may ring even if the phone’s technically off. What a nightmare!
You could just bury the phone in a drawer somewhere far away from your room, or use it to wake up and then toss it into your sock drawer. It might not be the most ideal method, but at least it could muffle the sound a bit!
That won’t work for me; it’s way too loud! The last time I managed to drown it out was when I stuffed it in a laundry basket, but I really don’t want to do that again. This phone just refuses to die!

I gave that a shot, but it didn’t help. The phone vibrates once, but the alarm still starts ringing the next morning. It’s just relentless!
