How can I uninstall HP Sure Click on Windows 11 when it keeps running?

I'm using an older work laptop that was given to me after a factory reset, and I now use it personally. HP Sure Click suddenly started running while I was browsing, and my screen briefly turned off and back on. I found a related Micro-VM process in Task Manager, but ending it didn't stop it and I can't delete the program. What does HP Sure Click do, and what's the proper way to remove or disable it on Windows 11?

Because this originally belonged to a workplace, make sure the previous organization no longer manages the laptop. Some HP security tools or firmware settings can reinstall vendor software or enforce policies. If it keeps coming back after removal, check Windows management accounts and HP firmware settings rather than repeatedly killing the process.

The screen flicker may not have been caused by Sure Click specifically. Check Event Viewer and Windows Reliability Monitor for graphics-driver or system errors around the time it happened. If you uninstall the software, keep Windows Security enabled and install current chipset and graphics drivers.

HP Sure Click is a security product that opens untrusted websites and files inside an isolated micro-virtual machine. It may restart automatically because its services are designed to stay active, so ending the Task Manager process usually won’t remove it. Uninstall it through Settings > Apps > Installed apps, look for HP Sure Click and any related HP security components, then restart. Avoid manually deleting its program files first.

If the normal uninstall fails, try starting Windows in Safe Mode and remove it from Installed apps there. You can also check the HP security software’s own uninstaller. A file-removal utility that schedules deletion during reboot may help with leftover files, but it shouldn’t be the first step for an installed security application.
