How can I update the firmware on my SSD that’s not being recognized after the Windows 11 update?

I have a WD Blue SA510 1TB SSD that has become unrecognizable to Windows 11 and even to BIOS after a recent Windows update. I know that there's a fix available by updating the firmware, but I'm unsure how to proceed with that since it's not showing up in the Sandisk Dashboard either. Can anyone guide me on how to update the firmware under these circumstances?

First off, you've got to get your SSD recognized by your system again before you can update the firmware. Try shutting down your computer, removing the power for a bit, and then reinserting the SSD. Some users have found that helps. If that doesn't work, you might want to try connecting it to a different computer to see if it gets recognized there. Once it shows up, you can use the Sandisk Dashboard to apply the update.

Yeah, I think plugging it into another computer could definitely help. I've had similar issues, and sometimes a different setup can make all the difference.
