I use Windows at work and rely heavily on the shortcut that launches or switches to applications based on their position in the taskbar—for example, Super+1 for Outlook, Super+2 for Excel, and so on. I would like similar behavior on Linux Mint, ideally with the Plank dock. Is there a way to configure this shortcut?

Cinnamon supports this through its Grouped Window List applet. Once applications are arranged on the panel, Super+number can launch or switch to the application in that position. This works more like the Windows taskbar behavior than a generic window-manager setting.
This depends on your desktop environment. In GNOME, Super+number normally activates the corresponding application in the dash. Other desktop environments and docks may provide different behavior or require custom keyboard shortcuts.
Plank does not appear to support the Windows-style Super+number shortcuts directly. You could create individual keyboard shortcuts that run each application, but those shortcuts would be tied to specific programs rather than automatically following their position in the dock.
