How can I use USB tethering without enabling USB debugging?

USB tethering is not working unless USB debugging is enabled. I only want to share my phone's internet connection with another device over a USB cable, without turning on developer options or USB debugging. It worked previously but recently stopped.

USB tethering normally does not require USB debugging. If the option is enabled but the connection does not work, check that your phoneโ€™s mobile data is on, try another USB cable or port, and restart both devices. The computer may also need the phoneโ€™s USB or network drivers.

If it worked before and suddenly stopped, the issue could be your carrierโ€™s tethering support, a changed plan restriction, or a phone update. Check the mobile network and hotspot settings, reset network settings if necessary, and confirm that your carrier still allows tethering. USB debugging should not be needed for normal USB tethering.

MellowCedar47: I used it successfully before, but it recently stopped working.
