This is my first PC build, and I'm stuck connecting the case cables to my Gigabyte X870 Gaming WiFi6 motherboard in a Montech TG3 case. I connected the power switch and the positive/negative power LED cables to what I believe are the correct front-panel pins, but I can't identify the USB, reset, and other connectors because most of the case cables aren't labeled. When I connect the power supply and press the case button, a small red light appears on the motherboard and the AIO fans start spinning, but the case fans and RGB lighting don't turn on. I'm not sure whether the system is working or whether I've connected something incorrectly. What do the different cables connect to, and what should I check first?

This is a very common first-build headache, so don’t feel bad. The motherboard manual has a diagram for the F_PANEL header showing exactly where the power switch and LED connectors go. You don’t need every front-panel cable connected just to test the system—start with the power switch, or briefly bridge the two power-switch pins with a screwdriver. USB cables usually do not connect to the small front-panel cluster; they plug into separate USB headers elsewhere on the motherboard.
Look up the manual for the exact motherboard model rather than guessing from the cable labels. The case’s USB cable may be a wider internal USB 3 connector or a smaller USB 2 connector, and each goes to a different header. The front audio cable normally connects to the header labeled F_AUDIO, while reset and power switches belong near the F_PANEL header. The motherboard’s standby light can remain on whenever the PSU is switched on, so that light by itself doesn’t indicate a fault.
The board is a Gigabyte X870 Gaming WiFi6. I understand now that the USB cables use separate headers, but I’m still trying to identify which unlabeled case cable is which.
The AIO fans spinning means the board is receiving at least some power, but it doesn’t confirm that the computer has completed a successful startup. For troubleshooting, connect the 24-pin motherboard power cable, the CPU power cable near the top of the board, the power-switch connector, and the necessary GPU power cables if you have a graphics card. Then check whether the motherboard’s diagnostic LEDs show a CPU, memory, VGA, or boot problem. Case RGB and fans may also need their own SATA power or motherboard fan/RGB connections, so they won’t necessarily work just because the power button is connected.
