My two-year-old Apple Pencil disconnects from my iPad Pro 11-inch (4th generation) several times a day, even though my other Bluetooth devices stay connected normally. I bought an ESR Geo Digital Pencil as a replacement, since it supports Find My and I frequently misplace my stylus. The pencil arrived fully charged, but my iPad doesn't detect it in Bluetooth, and it doesn't appear when I check the available devices or location-related settings. I'm running iPadOS 26.6. What setup step am I missing?

First, double-check the iPadOS version, since 26.7 may have been a typo or could refer to a beta build. If you’re actually on 26.6, that probably isn’t the whole issue, but confirming the exact version is useful before troubleshooting the pencil’s pairing and Find My setup.

It was a typo—I’m on 26.6 and don’t use beta software. The Apple Pencil still disconnects, and the ESR pencil isn’t showing up in Bluetooth or the setup screens.
