Hey everyone! I've got a quick question. My Samsung Galaxy S23U has just quit on me, and I still have about three months left on my contract with ID Mobile. Since I can't cancel early, I'm planning to start a new contract with Three because they have a great deal right now. Here's how I'm thinking of doing it:
1. Start my new contract today and get the new phone delivered.
2. Use my old SIM in the new phone for the next three months (which means I'll be paying for both contracts).
3. Once I can cancel my old contract without any fees, I'll request Three to port over my old number.
4. Finally, I'll switch to using the new Three SIM in my new phone.
Is there a time limit on how long I can wait after starting a new contract before I can port my old number? Or am I good to go as soon as I get my new phone? Thanks in advance! 🙂

As far as I know, there aren't any limits on when you can transfer your number! You just need to get your PAC code from ID Mobile and pass it along to Three. The PAC code is valid for 30 days, but it's easy to get a new one if you need it. Most just text a designated number to receive their PAC. Just a heads up, your new phone needs to be unlocked to work on other networks!
You could actually port your number right when you get your new contract, and it might save you some money too! If you pay the termination fee early, they often don’t charge VAT on the canceled months, so it can cost you less in the end. Just text INFO to 85075 to see what the cancellation charges are.
I'll definitely crunch the numbers! Thanks for the tip!

Good to know that new Three phones don’t come locked! Thanks for the info!
