I built my PC several years ago and it has worked well, but the Wi‑Fi connection has recently been weak even though I live directly above the modem. I opened the computer to inspect it and accidentally removed the Wi‑Fi card instead of just removing the surrounding assembly. Now I have two antenna wires to reconnect, but I'm having trouble attaching them to the tiny connectors. One of the retaining screws may also be stripped. The motherboard is a Gigabyte B460M DS3H AC. The computer may need a motherboard upgrade eventually, but I mainly want to get the Wi‑Fi working again without damaging anything.

You probably do not need a new motherboard. On the B460M DS3H AC, the Wi‑Fi module is normally a small card installed in an M.2 slot, with two tiny antenna leads that snap onto circular connectors on the card. Shut the PC down, unplug it, and reconnect each lead by centering it over the connector and pressing straight down gently. Do not push at an angle or force it. The card should sit flat and be secured with its small screw; if the screw head is stripped, a replacement screw or careful extraction is usually enough.
For a temporary solution, Ethernet is usually the most reliable option if you can route a cable between floors. Since that may not be practical in an apartment, your Wi‑Fi extender could also connect to the PC by Ethernet, or you can use a USB Wi‑Fi adapter until the internal card is secured again.
Check the exact Wi‑Fi card model and look up its installation diagram rather than relying on a video. The antenna wires connect to the card itself, not to the motherboard. The connectors are delicate, so use a fingertip or plastic tool and make sure both leads are fully clicked into place before reinstalling the side panel.
A cable may be difficult because the modem is on the floor below, so I’ll probably use the extender or a USB adapter temporarily.
