First, check the physical motherboard for its exact revision, such as 1.0, 1.1, or 1.2. The BIOS downloads are different for each revision, so using the wrong one could cause problems. After confirming it, visit Gigabyte’s support page for that specific B550 UD AC revision and download the newest stable BIOS file. Extract the downloaded archive and copy the BIOS file to a USB drive, preferably formatted as FAT32. Restart the computer, enter the BIOS, open the Q-Flash utility, choose the update option, and select the file on the USB drive. Don’t turn off the computer during the update.
The USB drive is needed because the motherboard’s Q-Flash tool reads the BIOS file from it. Make sure the file is for the exact board revision—not just the general model name. The motherboard manual should also show the Q-Flash steps, and checking Gigabyte’s official instructions is safer than guessing when several downloads are listed.
