How do the RTX 5070 Ti and RX 9070 XT perform at native resolution?

The upscalers aren’t necessarily just emergency performance switches. DLSS and FSR can sometimes look as good as or better than a game’s native anti-aliasing, particularly when the native option uses poor temporal anti-aliasing. Still, you don’t need them for these cards to be worthwhile: both have plenty of native raster performance for 1440p, while demanding 4K ultra settings and heavy ray tracing can challenge almost any GPU.

The 9070 XT tends to be the stronger choice for traditional rasterized rendering in some newer driver versions, while the 5070 Ti has advantages in ray tracing, software features, and certain games. The gap is small enough that pricing, available models, VRAM, and the games you actually play matter more than a tiny average benchmark difference.

For Fortnite and other competitive games, the graphics card may not be the limiting factor at 1080p or high refresh rates. A 7700X and 9070 XT should be capable of very high frame rates, but the exact result will depend on the game mode, view distance, effects, and whether the workload becomes CPU-limited. At 1440p, the 9070 XT should comfortably handle 144 Hz in many games without upscaling.

Both cards are excellent for native 1440p gaming. In broad rasterization tests, their performance is extremely close, with the RTX 5070 Ti usually winning by only a small margin overall. The RX 9070 XT is often the better value if it costs noticeably less. At 4K, modern ultra settings can still be demanding, especially in newer Unreal Engine games, so native performance depends heavily on the title and settings.
