Hey everyone, quick heads up for those using Snowflake! They're moving away from password-only authentication and encouraging organizations to switch to secure alternatives like SSO, OAuth, or key pair access. This change is part of a broader push for better cloud security and a zero-trust approach. If your team hasn't made the switch yet, it's time to start planning for it, as the deadlines are approaching. What strategies are you considering for this transition, and how are you feeling about these changes?

I don’t use Snowflake, but my company went passwordless this year. We equipped all our employees with FIDO2 keys, and we also enabled web sign-in for those using Windows. Some of my coworkers use their work phones for web sign-in with authenticator passkeys. We still had to keep passwords for some old systems, so we made a policy requiring complex passwords, but overall, it’s been great! Employees prefer not having to deal with MFA prompts. It’s nice that we’ve moved to something more secure!
