I've noticed that some new open-source models like Qwen 3.6 and GLM 5.1 have been released, and I'm curious about how long it usually takes for Amazon Bedrock to incorporate these latest versions. Is there a page where I can track upcoming model releases or updates? Thanks!

As someone who works at the company, I can tell you that we rarely announce release dates for features ahead of time, so it can be a bit hit or miss!
From what I've seen, there's no set timeline for when new models get added to Bedrock. Sometimes it's quick, like within 15 minutes for models like Haiku 4.5 and Sonnet 4, but other times it could take weeks or might never happen at all. So it really varies!
There isn't really a service level agreement on this. They need to ensure there's enough demand to justify adding new models, as they can't just replace them without having both available. If you're really keen on a particular model, you could also upload your own to Bedrock, but keep in mind that you'll incur costs based on runtime and model size instead of just per request.
There might be some limitations on the context window for the new models, which could affect their usefulness for more complex tasks. They might cap it at 128k, but that's speculation.

I wouldn't worry about that; Bedrock doesn't actually impose such limits. Just look at models like Opus and Sonnet, which can handle context windows of up to 1 million!
