How Much Should I Charge for a Simple Business Website?

I'm curious about pricing for building a straightforward, static website for small local businesses. The kind of site I have in mind typically includes about three pages: home, about, and contact, along with some visuals and a basic contact form. I know everyone's charging different amounts based on various factors like their tech stack, the complexity of the site, and the client's specific needs. If you often create these types of sites, what do you generally charge for this kind of project?

You'd want to check what similar agencies in your area are charging. I usually suggest calling around for quotes under the guise of starting a new business. It's a good way to gauge the going rates in your town!

That makes sense! Have you tried that yourself? How much do you usually find? I'd love to know what the average is.

For a site like that, I charge around $300. I create it on WordPress with a free theme, and since I have my own server, I include a year of free hosting. I set up email through AWS SES, and I have clients buy their own domain but I help manage it by pointing it to CloudFlare.

How do you manage to keep your pricing that low? Seems super affordable!
