I have an upcoming loop interview for a ProServe Engagement Manager position. I've been preparing STAR stories mapped to the company's Leadership Principles since before the phone screen, but I'm wondering what else to expect beyond those behavioral questions. How challenging is the interview day, and how much does the fatigue from going through several interviews affect candidates? I'd appreciate any advice on staying prepared and consistent throughout the process.

For an Engagement Manager role, be ready to show that you do more than track hours or schedules. Strong examples would include handling difficult customers, pushing back on unrealistic scope or deadlines, resolving tension between sales and delivery teams, and protecting your team while still keeping the customer relationship healthy.
The loop can be mentally exhausting, especially when you have several interviews in one day. Get a good night’s sleep, organize a few notes you can quickly review between sessions, and leave enough flexibility to adapt your stories if you get a brain freeze. Staying calm and consistent is just as important as having perfect answers.
Don’t prepare a completely separate story for every Leadership Principle. A smaller set of strong STAR examples that can be adapted to different themes is usually more useful. Make sure each story clearly explains your role, the decisions you made, the tradeoffs involved, and the measurable result.

That’s really the heart of the role. There’s a big difference between an EM who only polices timesheets and one who manages expectations, handles customer pressure, and keeps the delivery team focused. I’d emphasize examples where you pushed back constructively and created a workable plan.
