I'm planning to sell my old RTX 3080 Ti and no longer have the original packaging. I do have an RTX 5090 box that fits the card, but I'm concerned a buyer might overlook the listing details, see the 5090 branding, and file a complaint despite an accurate description. What's the safest way to package the card, or is there a good way to cover the branding while still using the box?

Use clear photos of the actual 3080 Ti and write plainly that it does not include the original box. The packaging itself isn’t important as long as the item and description are accurate, though a neutral box would still be less risky.
If you really want to reuse the larger box, cover or remove all of the 5090 branding and make sure the card is protected inside an antistatic bag with foam or other padding. Still, putting that packaging inside another plain box is the safer approach.
You could use the 5090 box’s internal foam in a similarly sized generic carton, then fill any empty space with suitable packing material. State clearly that the RTX 3080 Ti is being sold without its original retail box.
The simplest option is to avoid the 5090 box entirely. Put the card in an antistatic bag, wrap it securely with bubble wrap or foam, and use a plain, sturdy shipping box. That removes any chance of confusion and preserves the original packaging for your newer card.
