How to Access BIOS on an Acer Laptop When F2 Key Isn’t Working?

I'm having trouble getting into the BIOS on my Acer laptop. When I press the F2 key, all I see is a white line in the top left corner of the screen, and I can't get any further. The laptop starts up normally, and everything else functions fine, so I'm not sure what the issue could be. I've considered whether the BIOS might be corrupted or dead, but I can't reset the battery because one of the screws is stripped. Does anyone have any tips or suggestions for how to get into the BIOS?

You could try using a wired USB keyboard to see if that makes a difference when you attempt to access BIOS. Sometimes laptops have trouble recognizing the internal keyboard at startup. If that still doesn't work, you might want to check for any BIOS update that can be applied once you're in the operating system, as this may help if your current BIOS is unstable.

First, make sure you're pressing the F2 key at the right time. You usually need to hit it just after powering on, before the operating system starts to load. If the timing's off, it won’t register. Also, there’s an option to reset the BIOS by removing the CMOS battery, but since your screw is stripped, that could be tricky. You might want to try a different keyboard if you have one on hand, just to rule out any keyboard issues.
