How to Fix My Bricked Ubuntu 24.04 Device After a Firmware Update?

I'm having a problem with my Ubuntu 24.04 installation. After being prompted to update the firmware, I rebooted my machine, and now it won't boot properly. It gets stuck after showing these messages:

```
EFI stub: Loaded initrd from LINUX_EFI_INITRD_MEDIA_GUID device path
EFI stub: Measured initrd data into PCR 9
EFI stub: UEFA Secure Boot is enabled.
```

There's nothing critical on the machine that's not backed up, so I attempted to reinstall Ubuntu using my USB stick. However, when I select either the "try" or "install Ubuntu" option, it just shows a `_` cursor on the top left and doesn't proceed further. How can I fix this and un-brick my device?

Just a quick update: I disabled secure boot as you suggested, and the line about secure boot being enabled is gone now! But, I noticed that while trying to boot from the USB, it briefly displays "error: file /boot/ not found" before the menu shows up. Is that something to worry about?

Have you tried disabling secure boot in your BIOS? Sometimes after a firmware or BIOS update, the settings revert to default, which often means that secure boot is turned back on. Many Linux distros have issues booting with secure boot enabled, so this could potentially resolve your problem!
