How to Migrate Local User Profiles to Domain Profiles on Windows 11?

Hey everyone! I'm diving into Windows Server administration and need some advice on a project. I'm responsible for migrating about 10 PCs to a new Active Directory domain. The challenge is that these PCs run Windows 11 and 10 Pro, and they're set up with local administrator accounts currently in use by employees. Each profile has important software installed, like SQL Server and Visual Studio 2019. What I need to know is the best way to migrate user-specific data, settings, and application configurations from these local profiles to the new domain profiles. The goal is for users to log in with their new domain accounts and find everything as it was, without the need for reinstalling or reconfiguring their software. Any tips?

For migrating user profiles, Profwiz from ForensIT is a fantastic tool. It has always been the go-to for these kinds of projects. You can find it on their website, and it's usually reliable for seamless migrations. Just a heads up, it might take a little time to set up, but it's definitely worth the effort in the long run!

ProfilePro15: I second that! Once you get it set up, it works like a charm.

CloudMigrator08: Totally agree, it's a great solution for moving profiles to different domains!

Honestly, have you thought about just manually setting up the accounts? It might not be as fancy as using a tool, but with only 10 systems, taking your time to do it one by one could ensure everything runs smoothly. Plus, if there's any issue, you can handle it right away! But if you're set on using a tool, definitely check out ForensIT.
